Our Nursery Policies and Procedures
At Benington Nursery we believe clear, transparent policies help every child feel safe, nurtured, and ready to learn. Our full policy manual explains how we meet the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) requirements and reflects our natural, child-led approach to learning.
Parents and carers are welcome to view the full printed copy of our policy manual at any time on site. Inside, you’ll find key information about safeguarding, behaviour guidance, health and safety, equality and inclusion, and how we work in partnership with families.
We regularly review and update our policies to stay in line with current guidance and best practice. By following these procedures, we ensure our setting is a safe, welcoming environment where children can explore, grow, and develop independence using natural resources and real-life experiences
COVID-19
The health and safety of the children and our staff is of paramount importance at Benington Nursery.
These are the measures we have taken to ensure we maintain the highest standards of hygiene and awareness during the coronavirus pandemic:
We make sure we can identify if a child or adult is showing symptoms
If someone has had a test, we ask them to send the results in
Hand sanitisers are available inside and out all buildings
Any visitors must wear a mask the whole time and wash their hands when entering
Parents social distance at drop off/pick up
A steamer is used at the end of every session
We understand the procedure if a child or adult becomes unwell and they may need to isolate
All adults and children wash hands when entering an area
Adults wipe down toilets after every use
We have staggered drop off /pick up
Staff socially distance where possible
Hand sanitisers are available inside and out all buildings
If a child or a family member has any symptom’s we advise to get a test
Bins are available everywhere for tissues and hands are washed after use
We keep standards high throughout the day in all rooms especially children’s toilets
Only one adult will drop off/pick up
The cleaner deep cleans every night
